Overview

After departure of the Government Code and Cipher School in 1946 Block A, together with Block B, was used as a National Service Hostel by the Ministry of Labour. By 1948 it was part of the General Post Office regional training school and by 1953 it was used by Bletchley Teacher Training College up to 1975/6.

In 1977 the building had been taken over by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Following the departure of the CAA from the site in 1993 the building became the responsibility of Bletchley Park Trust.

Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre was established in 2004 and is currently based in Blocks A and E.

Lord Sainsbury of Turville, Minister for Science and Innovation, formally opened the 'Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre' on the 15th October 2004.

The Churchill Collection, which was located at the CAA entrance to A Block, vacacted the Park in 2013 as one of many changes to allow BPT to seek  national museum accreditation. In December 2014 some items of memorabilia relocated to the Churchill meeting room, a commercial business in Challenge House, Sherwood Drive, Bletchley.

CAA Assembly Hall
CAA Assembly Hall
The teleprinter apparatus room circa 1942 (it is said) was used as a cinema for Post Office training. It was rebuilt as an assembly hall for Bletchley Teacher Training College in 1957.

From about 1977 it became the CAA assembly hall and it was in this building that the Bletchley Park Trust held its first code breaking exhibition in February 1994.

Enigma Cinema
In recent times, the CAA assembly hall had been (1994 to 2015) the Enigma Cinema for the Projected Picture Trust.

See https://theppt.org/ for more details.

The building with the sloping room was once the main teleprinter hall. And Hut 14, the Registry was located here.
