STC DELTAPHONES |
"Design conscious but supremely functional - the new STC
Deltaphone represents an entirely new approach to telephone
design. A choice of restrained colours, lightweight handset,
electronic tone caller with volume control, optional dial
illumination, compactness... everything new! The STC
Deltaphone is particularly suited for use in homes, hotels,
reception lounges and 'front offices', where harmony of
design, functional elegance and prestige are essential. As
well as its superb modern appearance, fit to grace any
expensive flat, the basic economies of space and effort give
this new telephone utmost utility in offices and other
business premises. High technical specifications match the
trend-setting symmetry of this truly new telephone."

Deltaphone Technical Manual
|
The Deltaphone Technical Manual gives valuable information
about the Trimphones which were manufactured by STC. Only a
cross-section of information will be published on these
pages...
This particular handbook (STAA 66) details the Mark VI
Deltaphone which was given the STC reference of 66-LAU-67.
This version retained the same basic shape as the previous
series, but incorporated a number of circuit improvements.

Special Range Telephones: The Deltaphone
The Special Range Telephone portfolio gave Subscribers more choice in
the types of apparatus available for rental. And as the UK market was
opened up for competition, a combination of rental/single payment
options was offered, leading ultimately to outright sale/ownership of
the instrument. Originally, Special Range Telephones attracted an
additional rental for a five year term, after which no extra charges
were payable, but the phone was still the property of the Post Office.
Exceptionally, renters could request the phone to be removed to
different premises, when they moved home.
|
|
In the early Eighties, three versions of STC's Deltaphone
were added to British Telecom's "Special Range Telephones"
portfolio.
