Introduction

Bletchley Park Mansion was home to Ultra - the name given to the code-breaking operation that was based in the Park during World War II. The mansion retains an air of intrigue as to the functions of its many rooms and passageways. During 2014 areas of post-war car park were returned to lawn, which is more appropriate to its country-house setting.

A close up view of the Mansion shows that it is a strange mixture of styles. Extensions were added over the ages, with detriment to the existing design. The green dome on the left merges with one of the gables.

One of the remaining tall trees
The trees at Bletchley Park are now very mature. Some of them were used to carry wireless antenna, but did not fare very well in the strong gales during the Eighties. There is still much mystery surrounding the activities at Bletchley Park.
