ERNIE

ERNIE (photo above) can be seen with the front five equipment panels open or removed. The control console (thought to no longer exist) is mounted on a desk and pedestal units of the late 1950s era. Two 300 type ivory dial telephones are on the desktop. The control console contains an 8-day clock, either side of which are two indicator and switch panels.

A teleprinter No.7B fits into the locked draw of each pedestal unit, though the paper output is visible via a sunken well in the desk. A cathode ray oscilloscope is fitted to the left-hand control panel and is used to measure the signal distortion of ERNIE's output.
