There are actually 2 sets of contacts in parallel as shown in the diagram above, but I have redrawn the three key positions below in simplified form, but the operation of the circuit is the same. The switch lever pivots, so when the lever is moved upwards to the Advance position, it is the bottom set of contacts that operate.
For the mark 4 and before, the advance connected the clock circuit to the 6 second pulse instead of the 1 second. The operation was the same except that it took 6 times longer to advance the clocks an hour! |
