As you can see from the Winston Churchill poster- this is no ordinary clerical room, but a modern day mock-up of the sort of small office that could well have been a vital part in the chain of command at Bletchley Park, home of the code-breakers during World War II.

Introduction

Apart from Colossus, there were no computers at Bletchley, therefore all of the important information would have been hand-written, some typed-up for legibility at one of the many desk and tables.

Keeping the communications open. Switchboards, telephones and teleprinters were vital in The Park.
