History

The trailer bodywork was built by Freight Developments Co. Ltd., in Lancing, Sussex, on a chassis which was supplied by Taskers of Andover Ltd. The exchange equipment for this MNDX was fitted at the Post Office's factory at Enfield, Middlesex. The chassis type is an earlier design which has pneumatic tyres and air braking, making it suitable for direct transportation by road.

In first service at Dalkeith, in December 1966, it used the exchange name of 'Newbattle'.

The unit was transported on a low-loader to Milton Keynes Museum circa 1990. It stood outside the 'Telephone Museum hut' until about 2013 when it was re-located outside the newly built Connected-Earth pavilion.
