The hotel incorporates the two porticos which were retained from the original structure of GPO South. I don't know of any way to distinguish between the two porticos.
Johnny Walker, chairman of the International Telecommunication Services Retired Colleagues Association, persevered over five years to finally get agreement (circa July 2013) for the official Blue Plaque via the Corporation of London. The Plaque is adjacent to the Addle Hill entrance of the Grange Hotel.
March 2019: As reported in The Times. "The Grange hotels in the City, Holborn, St Paul’s and Tower Bridge with a total of 1,300 rooms are being sold to Queensgate Investments, the owner of the Generator hostel chain and the 906-room Kensington Forum hotel. Once the sale of the four Grange hotels goes through they will immediately be leased to the operator of the Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels brands in a back-to-back deal. They will be rebranded under the luxury Leonardo flag. " |
