Faraday Telephonists: Miss Barbara Parkinson
Trunk Training Book
Barbara Ball (nee Parkinson) writes...

"I started my career as a telephonist in 1946 in the Trunk Exchange NE Block, transferred to "Overseas" in 1947 and spent the next 40 years in various dept's (mostly in International), but have always had a 'soft spot' for Faraday."

"My initial training was in Clerkenwell Exchange. Then when I was sent to Trunks, the training school was in the South East Block of Faraday. I was finally initiated into North East Block. I remember that in the Winter, we did not see daylight. There were no windows and it was dark when we arrived and dark again when we went home."
