Female Telephonists Weekly Pay

If you are 21 or over you start at the 21 age rate. Rates in brackets apply only to staff with less than two years continuous service in the grade, including new entrants aged 21 and over. Pay for those aged 18 or over includes compulsory pension contributions.

Allowances

1-A language allowance of £3.04 (under 18) or £3.24 (18 and over) per week from the outset to Telephonists training for the International Exchanges if they speak fluent French.

2-Telephonists at the International Exchange are paid a special operating allowance as follows depending upon which Exchange they work in when fully trained:-

Intercontinental £1.82 per week (under 18) or £1.94 per week (18 and over)
Continental/Combined £1.25 per week (undr 18) or £1.33 per week (18 and over)
